Davis waiting on one thing

Marcus Davis has narrowed his list down to two schools. The 2013 athlete of American Heritage (Delray Beach, FL) just wants to take one more visit before making his final decision, but it may be a little while before he can take that visit. Davis won't be going anywhere until after his senior season and his team remains undefeated and could make a serious run at repeating a state championship.

Marcus Davis has had a top two of Wake Forest and West Virginia for a little while now, and only one things stands between him and his decision – a visit to West Virginia. He had planned a visit earlier this season, but his high school game was moved to that Saturday because of Hurricane Sandy. Davis now plans to take that visit after his season, when things settle down.

"Once I get up to visit West Virginia, then I'll be ready to make a decision," he said.

"I'm excited to go up there and see the place, and see if I can fit into the environment and the team."

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound athlete visited Wake Forest earlier in the season as felt very comfortable with the program.

"(I liked) the environment, campus and everything and the coaches seem really loyal," he said.

"My relationship is great with the coaches at Wake Forest, they all show a lot of love, so I'm keeping them near the top."

Davis likes both of his options, but at the end of the day, a few things will separate his final choice.

"Wherever I feel most comfortable and wherever I feel like I can make the most plays," he said.

"(I'm looking to see) if I'm going to be able to play early, as a true freshman. I'm going to work hard, so it's a matter of if they let the freshmen play early."

For now, Davis turns his attention to finishing his senior season strong – with another state championship.

"I'm hoping to finish the season, make it to the state championship, and party after."
