Purdue gets All-American TE

Purdue landed a US Army All-American tight end on Tuesday night. Read on for more.

Matt Burke is one of the top tight end prospects in South Florida, and the Cardinal Newman standout decided to end the recruiting process on Tuesday night.

"I committed to Purdue," Burke said in a message, just two days after returning home from an official visit to the school.

Burke, 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds, also took recruiting visits to Boise State and Harvard. He also held scholarship offers from schools like Western Michigan, San Diego State, and FIU.

Burke, who finished his senior season with 26 catches for 310 yards and four touchdowns, is more of a pass-catching threat right now. He's long, lean, has soft hands, and was heavily involved in the passing game over the last couple seasons. He does need to add strength, and get more physical at the point of attack. He's played small school competition, and will need to make the physical adjustment to playing major college football.

Burke's commitment to Purdue is a solid one, and the Boilermakers are getting a quality player.
