It wasn't quite Miami, or even UConn, but Saturday's game may have been one of the most important games thus far for the Eagles. Heading into a bye week before seven straight weekends with games, Boston College needed a victory to move to 3-2. The game was against Ball State, but the MAC has been far from cupcakes of late.

After struggling to three and out in its first possession, the BC offense collected itself, and, with the help of the defense and special teams, led the Eagles to a 28-10 advantage with 9:05 to play in the second quarter. A fluke BSU touchdown reception by Dante Ridgeway closed the gap to 28-16, but a late second quarter field goal block kept the Cardinals from drawing any closer before halftime...
