Will Deska Be an Eagle?

Prospect Interview

The whole recruiting process is treating Olympia HS (Fl.) defensive end Brendan Deska fairly well. The 6-3, 240-pound rising senior currently holds a number of scholarship offers from top-notch programs. He plans on taking an official visit to one of his favorites in August; could he commit then?

Brendan Deska Profile

Wake Forest, Duke, Boston College, Stanford, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Maryland and East Carolina have all offered Brendan Deska.

Brendan lists Boston College, Stanford, and Maryland as his top three schools.

Deska seemed to like the potential situation for him at Chestnut Hill.

"They (BC) are short on defensive ends so I have a chance to play early there," said the rising senior DE. "I'm going up for an official visit (on August 13)."

Coach Jason Swepson is recruiting Brendan for BC.

The Eagles are not alone in their pursuit of Deska as he was also impressed during his recent visit to Palo Alto.

"I went on an unofficial visit to Stanford over the summer and it was real nice, definitely the nicest campus I've seen so far."

Brendan will be taking his first official visit to BC in mid-August, and he indicated he would like to commit early.

"If I like Boston College- since it's one of my top schools- I'll probably end up committing there," said Deska. "But if not, FSU called, they want me to come for an official visit."

Deska likes the immediate playing time he will likely receive at Boston College, but if he doesn't commit on his official visit, he may not make a decision until after the season.
