Dan Mulrooney, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety from Holy Cross High in Waterbury, Connecticut, committed to Coach O'Brien and Boston College recently; we caught up with him to learn more about his decision.

Dan Mulrooney Profile

"When it came down to it Boston College just felt right for me," Mulrooney said. "I've really wanted to go to BC since I was a kid.

"It was just the total package of playing big-time football in the ACC, being close to my family and friends and receiving a top notch education while playing football. Academics are always my first priority and Boston College is one of the best schools in the country in that respect."

Coaches always play a large part in a recruit's decision and Mulrooney's situation was no different as he explained to us.

"Coach Kevin Lempa made a great impression on me very early. He's a great guy just like the rest of the coaching staff and I felt very comfortable talking to him. With all the tradition and the legacy the program has built it was where I wanted to be."

Mulrooney rushed for 1700 yards and 30 touchdowns as a junior at Holy Cross.
