Bill McGovern, one of BC’s top recruiters, had been in contact with Momah since last summer. But it wasn’t until early January that Momah received a phone call from McGovern asking the wide receiver to visit. “I wasn’t too surprised or anything, because I knew they had interest in me,” Momah said. “But I was definitely pleased. I knew BC was a school I could see myself at.” Once Momah got a chance to see the school first-hand, he ended his search and chose BC. “The players are really cool,” Momah said. “They had really nice facilities and I knew I could see myself going there. Clarence Megwa was my host. We went around Boston and checked out the campus. “I met with [Jeff] Jagodzinski and the rest of the coaching staff. I talked with everyone: [Jim] Turner, [Steve] Logan.” Momah has incredible size. He’s listed at 6’7” but he says he’s probably more like 6’7” and three quarters. His girth (220 pounds already) was the main reason that most of the schools interested in him were considering him for tight end. But that’s not what BC wants him for. “I’m playing receiver,” he said. “I don’t know where everyone got that, I’ve never played tight end. I’ve been a receiver all my life.” Logan, BC’s offensive coordinator, already has plans for Momah, who would easily be one of the tallest wide-outs in the ACC. “Coach Logan showed me some tapes,” Momah said. “He coached a couple 6’6” guys in the European league, so he showed me some tapes about what he did with them and told me he’d be doing similar things with me.” Momah is BC’s 15th commitment and the new coaching staff’s fifth in two weeks. He becomes the second receiver the Eagles have snared, along with early commit Dominic Magazu. |
