The sudden departure of Dom Davis from the BC football team left the coaching staff scrambling to find another player to compete for the quarterback position. This late in the process, getting a junior college player or transfer is unlikely. Instead, the Eagles reached back in time to land one time star quarterback Dave Shinskie.

Coming out of high school, Dave Shinskie was one of the top rated players in the country. He was #60 on the Scout 100 and had a long list of college programs offering him scholarships. He was also a star baseball player. Drafted by the Twins, Dave chose to follow his dream and went off to play baseball in the minors.
