A week ago, Alexander Amidon was unknown to Boston College fans. Now he is an Eagle. The Connecticut receiver camped at Boston College this week and earned an offer. He quickly accepted and became the first receiver in the 2010 recruiting class.

Last we we did the first story on Alexander Amidon. The Connecticut receiver was unknown to recruiting fans, but was not unknown to college recruiters. Several schools had extended offers and others wanted to take a long look. One of those was Boston College.

Alexander camped at BC this week and earned an offer from the Eagles on the second day. He did not need long to make up his mind.

“I committed this afternoon. I knew they were interested when they invited me to camp. I was very interested in them and was hoping for an offer.”

Alexander is the first receiver in the 2010 recruiting class.

“They tell me I'm going to be a receiver for them. I don't know what kind of receiver, but they will figure that out for me.”

The decision was not a difficult one.

“I loved it. The campus is great, the coaches are great and it is close to home. They have everything I'm looking for in a college.
