BC Scouting Virginia Tackle

Kevin Ball missed substantial time this spring and summer due to injury. Consequently, his recruiting has been in a holding pattern ever since. With the injury healed and the senior season in full swing, he hopes his senior film will get the interested schools closer to offering the Virginia lineman.
During his junior season, many schools were in to see the South Lakes offensive tackle. Like most big men, he was expected to hit the camps in the summer and audition for interested schools. An injury, however, scuttled those plans. He broke his ankle playing baseball in the spring and missed the entire summer camp season. Schools remain interested and continue to stay in touch.
“
Boston College
, UConn, Old Dominion, VMI, Holy Cross and Lehigh have all remained in contact. Everyone is waiting on my senior film. So, no one has offered yet. I'm 6'6” 265 and I play offensive tackle. Everyone is looking at me as a tackle in college. I broke my ankle playing baseball this past spring. So, I was unable to attend camps. That's why everyone is waiting for my senior film. They want to make sure I'm healed up and I can run around on it like before and make sure I can still get out and block and stuff like that.”
Now that he is healed and playing for his high school team, the process can begin. Kevin will have to put together video from the first month of the season and get it out to interested schools. Then it is waiting to see who remains interested and ready to offer.
“I'd like to go 1-A, but I have to wait until I get my film out and then talk to the coaches about who is going to offer. So, I don't have any favorites or anything like that at this point.”
With the fourth game of the season this week, getting film together, including a full game tape is next on the agenda.
“I play for South Lakes High School in Virginia. We're two and one and just lost to Herndon in the final seconds. We lead our district in both offense and defense and we have the number one rusher in the district. We play Marshall next and once that's done I'll put together a high light tape and one full game film for the coaches. On that Monday I'll have that ready and send it out and see what happens from there.”
As it stands now, the only 1-A schools in the mix are Boston College and
Connecticut
. That could change once film is out, but those two are the main schools right now.
“The two 1-A schools in regular contact are BC and UConn. Coach Siravo is the coach from BC that talks to me and coach Moorehead from UConn. Boston College says they will come down and see me and then invite me up in December. I don't know about everyone else at this point. They say they are waiting on my film before they make plans.”
