New Interest For Mike Huf

Mike Huf has received one offer and has a variety of schools looking at him for this class. The Philadelphia linebacker has also heard from some new schools since our last update. One of those presents an interesting set of options that few high school prospects get to consider.
Like most prospects,
Mike Huf
is waiting for schools to view his senior film. The first two months of the fall are when schools look at games and determine the next set of offers for this class. As we get closer to the point when schools begin to decide on those offers, Mike has some new schools showing interest.
“I have not been hearing too much from
Syracuse
,
Boston College
and
Akron
. The school I’m looking at right now is
Navy
. I’m planning to go to a game either this week or next week. I’m also talking to William & Mary and
Villanova
. “
The Naval Academy is a special place and few prospects have the opportunity to consider going there to play football. It is not only the high standards of the academies, it is the commitment required that rules out most prospects. For Mike, that is the attraction.
“I love the military. My grandfather and two uncles were in the service. My grandfather was in the Navy and one uncle was in the Army. That’s what makes Navy interesting for me, although my uncle may not be too excited.
“The coach called me a couple of days ago. He has been talking to me and my family. He wants me and my family to come and meet with the coaches and see the campus and get a feel for all of it. People tell me it is a special place and I’d like to see it.”
While Navy is very interested and presents a unique opportunity, Mike is keeping his options open for now. This is when schools begin to get serious about the next round of offers and he wants to see who is interested before making too many decisions.
“Right now I’m keeping my options open. I’m going to see what happens. I’m sending out game film to schools. I have not made a senior highlight film yet, but that will be coming. Once I know who is interested, then I can begin to narrow it down.”
For now, Mike is concentrating on his season, leading Cardinal O’Hara to an undefeated season.
“Our season is going good. We have three shutouts in a row, which is good. We’re 7-and-0 right now. We’re trying to keep the tradition going. We have won a lot of football games and we’re trying to keep it going.”
As far as a time table, nothing has been decided. It is wait and see until schools begin to make their decisions.
“I’m taking it slow. I’ll keep talking to schools and check out the ones most interested right now and then see who else comes in after they see my film.”
