The final two weeks of the season are upon us and the focus shifts to bowl eligibility and seeding. One division has been decided, as Georgia Tech clinched with their win over Duke. Clemson is next up in the feature game of the weekend. They beat hapless Virginia at home and they win the Atlantic division for the first time. The rest of the games are about bowl pairings and bowl eligibility.   Full Story

The finals two weeks of the season are upon us and one side of the title game has been decided. The other side will be decided this weekend as Clemson plays their final conference game of the season. A win and they are in. A loss and they have to wait on BC to finish their final game, assuming the Eagles win at home on Saturday.   Full Story

One team is looking for an at-large BCS bid and another is hoping for their first trip to the title game. This week could see one division wrapped up. Newport Beach, Ca. – Boston College Linebacker Mark Herzlich, who has missed the entire 2009 football season while undergoing treatment for cancer, will receive an honorary Lott Trophy, it was announced today by the Board of Directors of The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, sponsors of the award.   Full Story

The win over CMU was not a thing of beauty, but it was a very solid victory. Central Michigan may be a MAC school, but they play good football. There were certainly plenty of reasons to think they would give Boston College a tough time of it. In the first half that certainly looked to be the case, but it turned in the second half, resulting in a blowout.   Full Story

The final week of October has several pivotal games on the schedule. Six ACC teams are in a tough fight to make the post-season. None of these games will decide anything, but the bowl pecking order is begging to settle out and these games will go a long way toward settling those questions. The one big game is Miami at Wake Forest, which will be a nationally televised game.   Full Story

Bruce Gaston is one the most sought after defensive tackles in the Midwest. The Illinois tackle has a long list of offers from schools around the country. He has yet to take any of his official visits, but the plan is to begin that phase of his recruitment once his season ends. The visit list has yet to be determined, but one school is in good position to be on that final list.   Full Story

The reason for the loss at Notre Dame is obvious to anyone who watched the game. Statistically, you have a better chance of winning the lottery than winning a game after five turnovers. The fact that it was close and BC had a chance to win at the end is something of a miracle. Putting that aside, there are some things that could have been handled better by the coaches.   Full Story

Boston College went into South Bend with a six game winning streak over the Irish. They left with their third road loss of the season and their first to Notre Dame in seven tries. The Eagles had plenty of chances, but turned the ball over five times, handing Notre Dame the victory.   Full Story

The ACC kicked off the weekend with a thriller on Thursday night. Florida State rallied back to knock off UNC on the road. The rest of the schedule has some potential for great games as well. There are also a few games that will have a great impact on the division races. Clemson at Miami is important for both divisions, as both teams are in the mix for the title.   Full Story
